The vineyard and the environment are Custoza’s greatest assets. For this reason, since the 1980s, viticulture in the Custoza production area has begun a radical conversion both in forms of animal breeding and in agronomic practices, in order to make the most of the characteristics of the typical Custoza vines.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For almost forty years the Consortium, with a special phytosanitary commission made up of expert agronomists, has been promoting the adoption of integrated pest management techniques that favour organic and environmentally sustainable cultivation methods.<\/p>

Our winegrowers increasingly prefer mechanical methods of weed control, gradually abandoning chemical weed killers.<\/p>

In the area, more than 300 hectares fight the grape moth with the method of sexual confusion, reducing the use of chemical insecticides as much as possible.
More than 25 percent of Custoza production is certified organic, SQNPI or Biodiversity Friend.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

All this is done to protect the land, a recognized intrinsic value of the appellation.
A commitment to the environment and biodiversity that the Consortium also carries out is by offering in-depth technical and agronomic refresher courses aimed at all members, who are guided toward cultivation techniques with low environmental impact.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
